icon Level Declaration

The rule regarding athletes dropping back a level or levels is:

Once a gymnast achieves a state qualifying score, she may not drop back a level/levels, unless she has not competed for a minimum of ONE FULL CALENDER YEAR OR MORE in ANY competitive gymnastics program, due to retirement, injury, etc. If after a layoff period of one full year or more, she may petition to the program chair to re-enter at a requested level. Decision will be made and sent to gymnast and coach within three weeks of receipt of petition.
If a competitive gymnast is injured at the time of ALL THREE QUALIFIERS in a current year, she may petition into the state championship with state qualifying scores from the previous season and level competed. A written physician's statement stating facts about the injury and recommendation of no competition during time of all three qualifiers must accompany the petition and sent to the Team Florida president. Coach will be notified within three weeks of state championship if petition is granted.
